Spring!

It is that time of year again! Spring. For the last 2 years I have donated a quilt to a spring church auction and this year it will be 2! I just love both quilts but I especially like the string quilt. I am very fond of that pattern and have made several. It is just one of those quilts that always looks good.

The second one is very nice but it was also very sunny and the picture was not too good. It is also a bigger quilt than my husbands arms can reach! I guess i need 2 people to hold it up. I hope the quilts will earn the church a little money. I thank God for the gift of being able to sew so I think I should share.

Another teacher at school had twin boys and here is the latest on the baby quilt list. they are similar but just a little different.
I have a wonderful Picture of my sweet daughter in the bluebonnets wrapped in her quilt with her husband but I can't get it to load. maybe tomorrow.

    1. No pattern on the string quilt. I sew on a base sheet. I use a sheet of paper from a phone book. It is thin and easily tears off when I am finished sewing. They are fun to make and use up lots of scraps.

  6. That is a lot of finishes. I love the quilting and color play on your string quilt. And I want to make a quilt like your second one to practice quilting feathers. The twin quilts are really fun as well. I love bright baby quilts.

  7. I know I'm slow commenting here but... I love the string quilt and the boys quilts! But I'm completely in love with the second quilt. What is the pattern for this one? I really like it and would love to use it for a quilt for my older daughter.
I hope these are a big fundraiser for your church - they should be!

    1. The second donation quilt is a pattern from Missouri Star quilt company. there is a video for it on youtube and it is also published in the Quilting Quickly magazine from the fall with Jenny Doan.
