It has been awhile since I posted but that does not mean I have not been busy sewing. I quilted up the Christmas top that I showed earlier and carefully wrapped it up and popped it in the storage space for a new addition to the family room this year at Christmas!!
I purchased some yummy fabric at the quilt show in November and have been trying to decide what to do with it. I had 20 fat quarters that I just love.Well, I looked all over for several months and decided to just make some bricks and put them together. so I carefully cut the 20 fat quarters into lovely pieces. As I laid them out, no matter how I worked it, the look was way too busy. Now what. My gorgeous fabric cut up and nothing to do. I cut some solid pieces to try and tone it down, give the eye a resting spot but I didn't like that either. I finally put 4 together with a white strip to make a big square and I can twist them and turn them as I please. I am getting the pieces slowly sewn but it is scary!!
While I was stewing about the other bricks I cut and sewed a bunch of strips to make another favorite from a magazine from years ago. the stacks are done so now it is time to get them together.
I also have been cutting some hexi's! I made a small holder to take with me on my trip in a few weeks to hold all my sewing goodies. hmm. I am wondering if a ziploc bag might be better.
